Will J. Wright is an artist on a mission. As News Director of New York's WWOR-TV for the past eight years, Wright has managed to merge the creative process in his daily activities of running Channel 9's newsroom.
Will Wright is the recipient of 13 local TV Emmy Awards and is the only New York Area News Director to win the coveted honor in Set Design. Wright credits these honors and his eight international film awards to the creative process he developed through painting.
Will Wright is a graduate of Fordham University with a BA in Communications in 1972. He was a Michelle Clark Fellow at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism in 1974. He is a trustee of Fordham University and serves a trustee of the Radio Television News Directors Foundation.
Will's mission as an artist is to use his talents to finance the various foundations and charitable organizations he supports. His works can be found at auctions where the proceeds advance the cause of education in journalism.
