My artwork is about personal experiences. I use the language of l960's Pop art to trivialize images that might normally be seen in a stark, un-stereotyped way.
Some of the images in my paintings are from drawings I made as a civilian while spending the night in an Israeli bomb shelter near the Lebanese border, under missile attack from the Hezbollah. Some of the images are from drawings I made as a recruit at US Marines boot camp. I use imagery related to Islamic extremism and in opposition, the US military representing both sides of the global struggle.
