ARTIST'S STATEMENT In my painting, I offer a wealth of bright, gaudy colors filled with hints about a physical beauty and vulnerability with no evident psychological damage appearing in their expressions. In the quest to represent such beauty, I endeavor to explore aspects of this embattlement and extend it into a compelling aesthetic format without a disturbing visual complexity. I then try to evoke a unique blend of personal pleasure and aesthetic reward where human intellectual presence is radically diminished. In the sense of desire to paint, as both a metaphor and as a specific physical reality, I may be able to romanticicize the act of painting, as the frank eroticism, without too heavy a load of irony.
