Graduated from state school of art in former Czechoslovakia, I exhibited in group exhibition "Integrace," (Integration), and then participated in several samizdate exhibitions in private studios, apartments, and outdoor actions, not having a chance to exhibit in galleries. Czech political hostile environment was unfriendly to independently thinking artists.
Several times I exhibited at the Ferral Art Gallery in Brooklyn, and recently began participating in the Ward-Nasse Gallery Year-Round-Salon.
I recently began working with surgical gloves, sometimes combined with found objects for it's strong metaphorical power as a surrogate for body skin, and prefabricated basic forms of human body parts.
To me, artwork is visualized thought. I like the idea that anything can be seen as art, if charged with new, or unexpected meaning. I do not desire to make entirely new things. There are a great many of them out there already. By alternating or combining things, I attempt to give them new, or alternative meaning.
