Katja Guggenheim was born in 1929 in Egypt of a Russian mother and a Swiss father. Her father a sculptor himself, was an early influence on her apreciation of art. She graduated from the Zurich College and studied at the University of Zurich. Her work has been continuously shown in galleries and museums in both Europe and USA. Besides her paintings, she is also an experienced sculptor working mainly in cast bronze. She currently spends the year between her studio in New York City and her home in Bariloche Argentina.
